Open for tours June 2020
Come and explore the powerful Klamath River on a spiritual adventure that will take you back in time, hearing only the quiet chatter of the wildlife as you glide along the water’s surface.
Learn about Yurok history and way of life. Experience the ancient traditions of the Yurok people and feel at one with the river, ocean, and forest. Find out why the Yurok are notorious boat builders and why each canoe (ohl-we-yoch) is carved with a heart, lungs, and kidneys.
Tours are Wednesday through Sunday at 10AM, 12:30PM, and 3PM. On each trip there will be two canoes with 3-4 passengers and two guides per canoe. The tours will begin at the Yurok Visitor Center where guests will be briefed on boating safety protocols and fitted for personal flotation devices. Guests will then be transported a short way to the launch site on the river bar.
Two hour guided tour – $125
Paddling/Captain – $150
Yurok Tribal Members two hours – $100
