Father’s Day weekend is shaping up to be a big one here in Yurok Country! In addition to a Native Art and Craft Fair, visitors and locals can enjoy hosting traditional gambling in our amphitheater, Father’s Day BBQ specials and exciting Hydroplane races hosted by The Redwood Hotel Casino!

Native Art and Craft Fair Saturday, June 18th
Join us for an exciting day browsing beautiful Native American artisan work and treasures at the Native Art and Craft Fair Saturday, June 18th from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the Yurok Country Visitor Center. Interested vendors are encouraged to contact the Yurok Country Visitor Center at (707) 482-1554 and request an application.

Hydroplane Races June 18th and 19th
The Cal-Ore River Racers  are returning to the Klamath river for an exciting weekend of hydroplane races June 18th and 19th. Come enjoy beautiful day as racers compete in high flying hydroplane boats moving through the water at 80+ mph!

The course starts at the mouth of the Klamath River on the island across from the Chinook RV park and goes 17 miles upriver to McCovey Flat for the turn around.

Saturday June 18th time trials will be 11-2 at the Klamath Glen. The Sunday June 19th race will start at noon.

Cal-Ore River Racers has been conducting white water hydroplane races on the wild rivers of Southern Oregon and Northern California since 1959 and is sanctioned by The American Power Boat Association.

Traditional Gambling at the Yurok Country Visitor Center Amphitheater Saturday, June 18th
Join the fun!  Come to the Yurok Country Visitor Center Amphitheater on Saturday, June 18th at 10:30 a.m. as Yurok Tribe members present a very special enrichment session about the traditional gambling game, a guessing game played in Northern California by the Yurok, Hupa, Karuk, Wiyot and Tolowa people. The event includes traditional storytelling and gambling demonstrations.
